In response to Does Religion Belong in the Workplace? posted by MelissaDylan:People trying to push religion on me *anywhere* makes me uncomfortable, be it in the grocery store, yelling at me from across the street, standing on my doorstep, or approaching my office. Sure, invite me to your church potluck, or ask if I'd be interested in participating in a seder. But, oh, those dreaded words "Let me talk to you about my personal lord and savior, Jesus Christ."
And, it's not always the Christians, but, there seems to be more of them, you know?

I tend to be very private about my beliefs, so talking about them with anyone is a little strange, let alone a co-worker with whom I have only a working relationship. I don't even think my family members are clear on where I stand, so I don't really wish to get into it while trying to work out a processing code or something.
Also, polite invitations are fine, but then I can't always help but think who is picturing me burning in hell if I say no thanks. (Yes, I know that most religious people aren't like this, but there's just a new element on the table from then on, you know?)

How would you feel if members of your company began holding daily prayer circles at your workplace?

I think it would weird me out a little, too. Not that they were doing it, but that suddenly there would be a subtle "us and them" vibe in the office. Overcoming differences and diversity is hard enough in a workplace. Why go out of your way to point out more?

That's a good point. I think in most cases locating the virgin would prove the biggest challenge. But I digress...» duckierose - Does Religion Belong in the Workplace?
I don't think there are any virgins in my office.I don't know if that's good or bad.

I say good, because that way no one will have to be sacrificed, which is good for both the non-virgins, and the janitors.
