Holidays don't always mean it's time to slack off!

I hate the holidays.

Wait. Strike that. I USED to hate the holidays. For most of my jobs the holidays meant more work. In retail and restaurant positions, the frazzled shoppers and starving, impatient diners made me miserable.

In corporate positions, time off for the holidays meant working overtime before and after to keep up with my workload.

And in both situations, sticking around for the holidays meant covering for people who weren't there.

This is the case for most workers. Yet Christmastime is still lauded as the Most Wonderful Time of the Year. Is it any wonder we can't enjoy ourselves when our jobs kick into overload?

I've written a few tips on sticking it out through the holidays.
